Singapore law requires a disclosure that a psychology qualification is not a medical or dental qualification.
Haanusia Prithivi Raj is a highly qualified and compassionate Clinical Psychologist with nearly 15 years of experience supporting the mental health and emotional well-being of adults, children, and families. She has worked across a range of clinical settings—including hospitals, inpatient units, and community mental health centres—offering culturally sensitive, evidence-based care tailored to each person’s unique needs.
She provides therapy for both adults and children, with particular expertise in treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), mood and anxiety conditions, parenting challenges, perinatal mental health, grief, and child and adolescent wellbeing.
She is trained in a range of therapeutic modalities, including Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based interventions.
Her approach is holistic, trauma-informed, and neuro-affirming—creating a warm, safe, and supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered.
Haanusia founded and led Singapore’s first paediatric OCD programme, establishing a specialist service for young people with moderate to severe OCD. The DCAP OCD Programme offered multidisciplinary assessments and treatments aligned with international best practices, including CBT and medication when appropriate. She also authored a comprehensive CBT treatment manual for young people with OCD, significantly advancing the standard of care in this area.
In addition to her clinical work, Haanusia is passionate about mental health education and advocacy. She has written and published therapeutic books for children dealing with anxiety, OCD, and self-harm, and regularly conducts public workshops, talks, and professional trainings on various mental health topics. She has also served as an adjunct lecturer at the Singapore Institute of Technology, nurturing the next generation of mental health professionals. An active voice in the community, she frequently contributes to media features—including radio interviews, newspapers, and magazine articles—on topics related to emotional well-being, parenting, self-care, and mental health. Through these platforms, she helps promote public awareness and reduce the stigma around seeking psychological support.
A Registered Clinical Psychologist with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) and the Singapore Register of Psychologists (SRP), she also provides supervision and mentoring to fellow clinicians. She is currently completing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at James Cook University Singapore (JCUS), where her research focuses on the mechanisms of change in mindfulness-based interventions and further explores how people navigate discomfort and sustain long-term mindfulness practice.
Outside of her professional life, Haanusia enjoys travelling, baking sourdough bread, and spending quality time with her family. She brings a grounded, compassionate presence to her work and is deeply committed to helping her clients heal, grow, and thrive.
She provides therapy in English, Malay and Tamil.
